Embarking on the design phase for this project was very pleasing, as our client had a similar style and taste to what we were imagining. We kept the tonal elements very close, adopting a more monochromatic approach. This allowed us to experiment more with textural differences. We had large areas of ceilings and walls with textured paints, as well as feature walls with heavy textured renders, which had an amazing impact when paired with the more subtle surrounding areas. To add contrasting concepts close together, we introduced strong natural elements, including live tree features. We also brought in rustic timber joinery, along with some Japanese-style pots, to add authentic touches. To summarize the design, it aimed to encapsulate imperfect and perfect living side by side with effortless harmony.
